Happy Easter!!!

Easter Egg Hunt
Outside Our House

Easter Sunday at Church

Well again, it has been a while since I have posted. ..but I figured Easter was an appropriate time for an update. It has been a fairly relaxing week-end. It was nice to have a few days off work to spend with Jackson.

Not really much to report. Jackson is doing really well in school and seem to be advancing more & more every day. He is getting better with other children (not as shy), and he still loves being there. We will probably put him in full days come the fall.

The big news is that I am getting a new car!!! A pearl white Nissan Murano!!! I wish I had a picture, but I will post when I get one...it is so beautiful!!! I will be leasing it (as it is a tax write off for me) and I am gonna look so good in it!!!!! I know you are all jealous, but anyone who would like to come for a ride in it with me is welcome to ask....

Well, I am going to keep this short and sweet. I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and I will post as soon as I get my car pics!!!!!

Finally....an Update

Jaimie's House
Jaimie and Jackson

Last day of Skating

My Dad and Jackson

My family has been bugging me to post, but my life has been quite a zoo lately.....However, I thought I would quickly type something on here.
Last week-end we went to my friend Jaimie's house. She lives in the little hick town of Frontier ( in SW Saskatchewan). I have known her since high school, and she now works for the same company I do (yes, i will take the credit for recruiting her)!! It was good to get away and have a bit of a break. Jackson also had a good time there as Jaimie came with our family to Mexico in November and since then he is quite attached to her...
The week before that my Mum was away visiting my sister in California. My Dad was a bachelor for the week, and it was exhausting... ( but kind of cute at the same time). He was so pitiful, and I had to take care of him. Anyways, he did join my Mum in California the next week-end, and I got a bit of a break again!!!! I don't know what he will do if My Mum ever dies first (and I'm allowed to talk like this as I am in the funeral profession). He would have to remarry again and quickly!!!! Anyways, they had a good time visiting my sis and bro-in law, and of course seeing little baby Katy.
Well, that's about it for now. I am off to bed. I have had a crazy couple of weeks at work, and I am wiped....I need a vacation!!!! (Poor Poor Me).
P.S. Dad, do not GET MAD that I wrote that you were a tiny bit pitiful when Mum was away..... you do know that it's the truth!!! I still love you, but there will come a day when you have to pick out your own clothes!!!!!!!
Good Night,
-Lauren

It's Been Awhile....

Has it ever been a long time since I actually posted. I cannot believe we are already into February. My sister and niece came and went, and Jackson has been at Montessori for a couple of weeks now. Danielle and baby Katy had a good visit. She is five months old, and drooling like crazy. She grabs at everything she sees and tries to get it in her mouth. She likes to be around people all the time, just watching what is going on. I think she is going to be a very social little girl. She looks exactly like Danielle as well (sorry Benji).

Anyways, Jackson is really enjoying school, and it is amazing how quickly he is learning and growing there. We definitely made the right decision by enrolling him. He is still fairly shy with the other kids, but the teachers say he is slowly progressing every day.

Getting Ready for School

He now also stays for lunch, and he just loves his Superman lunchbox. He gets excited to see what I have packed for him everyday. He brings home little "presents" for me also (the paper crafts he has made), and he is so proud of them.

Anyways, that's all for now. We are just having a relaxing week-end at home as it is so freezing outside. I will try to post again soon, as I know my life is so fabulously interesting!!!!!

I do have a Sweet Little Boy....

After reading my last post I wanted to be clear that Jackson is not always such a difficult little creature.....He is also very sweet as well. For example, tonight he was back to his silly, cute self. He cuddled with me on the couch, and it always melts my heart when he looks up at me and says (right out of the blue), "Mummy, I like you....." Anyways....that's all. I just wanted to put emphasis on the fact that I do have a very special little boy....

Goodnight,

Jackson Started School Today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Board Outside of Classroom

Jackson's Own Little Space for
his Boots

Today was a big day because Jackson started Montessori School!!! He was very happy this morning getting dressed in his navy sweats and grey t-shirt. Firstly, b/c he LOVES wearing "cozy pants" (so he calls them), and secondly b/c he knew they were his school uniform, and he was all proud. However, I SHOULD have taken a picture at home when he was happy & excited.....When we got to school he got mad because he wanted to put on a Batman mask, and I apparently couldn't put it on correctly (I know, I know....my child is WAY too particular).

Jackson and His Teacher Yasmeen

Therefore, to make a LONG story short, the pictures that I took of Jackson's first day of school
didn't turn out as I had hoped. Nevertheless, (sigh) I am posting them anyways.....

GRUMPY PANTS!!!!!

Anyways, as soon as I get some happy & smiley pictures of Jackson at school...I will be sure to post them!!! Until then, these will have to suffice.

A Wonderful Lady...

Oma & Opa visiting in Saskatoon

Helen Krahn
August 17th 1928 - December 19th, 2006

I received a very big shock tonight when I received an e-mail from my ex-husband, Marty. He told me that his Oma, Helen Krahn, had passed away from cancer on Dec 19th... I never even knew she was sick.

Helen "Oma" was wonderful woman. In the winter of 1999 I lived in the basement of Opa and Oma's house (in Chilliwack B.C.) before Marty and I got married. They were a sweet couple who were always looking out for other's interests before their own. Oma was always cooking something...perogies, farmer sausage, ribs, platz, and many other Mennonite specialities. She was a dear lady.
As a result of finding out about this, I have learned a very important lesson - NEVER EVER put off till tomorrow what you can do today!!! After Marty and I separated in 2002, and subsequently divorced...God put it on my heart to contact his family. I finally gave in a year or so ago and I called his mother. However, I have been saying for the past four years that I needed to write Oma & Opa a card and tell them how special they were to me.... I never did.

Dear Oma,

Thank you for taking time to care about me, even if we were only in each other's lives for a short while. I am sorry for hurting your grandson. He was a wonderful man....I just wasn't ready. I am happy that you are with the Lord now, and I am blessed to have the peace and assurance that we will meet in heaven again one day. Until then, goodbye. I did love you, and I am sorry I did not say it soon enough.

Love, Lauren
